mascara2

Benefit They’re Real! Mascara – My lashes have never been longer! I am amazed by the length every time I apply this. But what is it about all mascaras that the first few applications are always the worst? They have all this excess goop on the wand and leave clumps in your lashes. It’s not until after a few uses that mascara starts to make your lashes look great. The very same could be said for They’re Real! After a few uses, it gets better to best and now I couldn’t be happier with how impossibly looooong my eyelashes look. But is this my be-all end-all? Maybe not. I’m not sure I can justify spending over $20 on mascara when there are so many great drugstore options for less. So once this runs out, I’m in the market for a good dupe, if you know any.

lipstick2

Rimmel London, Lasting Finish by Kate in Rosetto 12 – I love a good matte coral lipstick for the summer and this one is absolutely one of the most beautiful colors. It’s bold without being too flashy and its orangey undertone would complement a warm skin tone very nicely. As for the lasting finish part of it? On that front, it’s a little weak, but reapplying doesn’t bother me. I’ve worn this almost every single day since I’ve purchased it. Love love love the color.

perfume

Victoria’s Secret Noir Tease Eau de Parfum – The label says it has hints of vanilla, jasmine and pear, but all I smell from it is SEXY. I like to think this is the perfume equivalent of a pink satin with black lace trim lingerie number. The woman wearing it has messy curls, smudgy & smoky eyes, pale pink lips and a smokin’ body. So basically….a Victoria’s Secret model? Okay, good job Victoria’s Secret. I believe it.

eyebrow pencil

New York Color Kohl Brow/Eyeliner Pencil in  025 Sable – I’ve spent anywhere between $6-$9 for brow pencils that worked like crap and wasted away in a matter of mere weeks (side eye: Maybelline eyebrow pencil). But this, I only spent a whopping $1 for and it is the best eyebrow pencil I’ve ever used. Works like a charm and lasts forever (or at least, a few months). My brows are mostly full, so I just like to fill in a few sparse areas and this does so —easily and effectively, might I add. There are days when I go out with just a few strokes of a pencil to the brows and nothing else. Because a good strong brow is what makes the face, I’m convinced.

moisturizer

Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer with SPF 40 – Josie Maran’s products are quickly becoming some of my favorites when it comes to skin. Her sunblock is great, but for everyday use I need something lighter yet still protective.  Not only does this moistuizer have a high SPF, but it applies smoothly and absorbs into the skin quickly. The ingredients are mostly natural and organic so you can feel comfortable putting this stuff on your face. With its lightness, fresh fruity scent and protection from the sun, I think it’s the ideal summer moistuizer.

I love Benefit’s mascara and makeup in general (plus their packaging gets me too!) – I’ll have to check out NYC eyebrow pencil ;I too have had issues in the past with pencils and now use a brown powder. Great picks!

Benefit’s packaging is what gets me every time! They have an awesome marketing team because I want to buy everything according to its name. Some of them are so cheeky and cute.

I like that mascara, I have very short lashes too. Does it only sell online or are there stores that carry it?
I got interested in that Josie Maran moisturizer. My face dries out in Winter.

That shade of lipstick is SO pretty!

I absolutely love They’re Real mascara! I usually never buy the same kind twice, but I’m on my second (mini) tube now.

    • Jillian says:

I’m mini-tubing it too. Got it free at Sephora! Amazing how many products I’ve tried/loved just by their free samples alone.

That lipstick is gorgeous! I’m a perpetual fan of Stila convertible colors–love it on cheeks and lips!

  6. I love it when you share your favourite beauty products. Never heard of Josie Maran but given the fact that I am moving to a warmer climate, I need something light with a high spf – it looks perfect (heading over to Amazon as I type this!)

I had a sample of the Josie Maran moisturizer that I had never used until reading this post – tried it, love it, totally intend on making it a permanent addition to my routine once I use up my Kiehl’s! Thanks for the great reminder! :)

ps – I have a mascara obsession and have tried everything under the sun. I really like Almay’s “One Coat Get Up and Grow” mascara, for when you’re looking for a cheaper replacement!

    • Jillian says:

Ooooh, I haven’t even heard of that one! I was looking at the L’oreal Voluminous for my next mascara purchase (have you tried that one?). I’ll def look into the Almay too and see what that’s all about. Thanks girl!
