food truck rally rules

My rules for getting the best out of a food truck rally experience:
dumpling truck

1. Arrive early to a.) avoid long lines and b.) nab a prime shady spot (have someone babysit the spot while you order. Do the same for them).

2. Go with a group. Because you like their company, of course. But also so you can sample some of their food, especially the food that you might feel little iffy about ordering on your own.

3. Eat everything!!!

4. And don’t you dare say it’s too hot for a brownie! I will hear none of it (even if it is clearly melting).

I really enjoy Prospect Park’s bi-weekly food truck rally, but I’ll be damned if it’s not a pain in the ass to get to! And the trains on a Sunday schedule? Don’t even get me started. But the commute and the transferring of trains seem alright when I try something that really knocks my socks off.  The pink lemonade ice from Andy’s Italian Ices is just the perfect refreshing treat on a sweltering day. I loved it and nearly got a second, until I was sidetracked by the Mexican chocolate brownie from the Treats Truck. Worth it!
